FIRST TIME QUALITY

without compromise

With site design and grid connection requirements locked in, Jump Energy moves from plan to reality. We manage permitting, including council approvals, electrical permits, and fire safety sign-off, then deliver the grid connection works and install all switchgear, protection, and metering to the approved design.

Our teams then bring the depot to life — trenching, cabling, and construction, followed by installation of EV chargers, PV solar, and battery storage as one integrated energy system. Every element is commissioned and tested to AS/NZS standards, so your depot isn’t just built; it’s verified, certified, and ready to perform.

PROCESS OVERVIEW

PERMITING

With design and grid connection requirements already locked in, this stage is about turning approved plans into permits. We lodge for council approval, electrical permits, and fire safety sign-off — with extra attention where battery storage or PV solar is part of the build. If depot access affects public roads, we manage traffic management too.

UTILITY CONNECTION EXECUTION

With capacity and connection point already agreed with your local distributor, this stage is about delivery — scheduling the connection works and getting them done. We install all switchgear, protection, and metering to the approved design, and coordinate any PV solar or battery storage connection points, so your depot is fully powered and ready.

CIVIL AND ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION

This is where the approved design becomes reality — trenching, cabling, switchboards, concrete pads, and bay markings, all built to spec. Where the site includes PV solar or battery storage, we install mounting structures, inverters, and enclosures alongside the core electrical works. We sequence everything around your operations, so your vehicle fleet keeps moving while we build.

EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION

We install and connect every EV charger, PV solar system, and battery storage unit as designed, get each one talking to the network, and configure load management to your depot's actual capacity and vehicle fleet charging profile. This is where the plan comes together on-site — EV chargers, PV solar, and battery storage working as one integrated system.

COMMISSIONING AND TESTING

Before handover, we ensure the full installation is certified to AS/NZS standards — EV chargers, PV solar, and battery storage included. We run charge-cycle tests, validate load management under simulated depot conditions, and confirm solar generation, battery performance, and monitoring are all functioning correctly. Sign-off means your depot isn't just built — it's verified and ready to perform.

Frequently asked questions

Who's actually allowed to install our depot's EV charging infrastructure?

Only licensed electricians, working to the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules that govern every EV charger installation in Australia and New Zealand — covering dedicated circuits, overcurrent protection, and RCD protection for each EV charger. This isn’t just about compliance. Unlicensed work voids warranties and creates real safety risk, which is why every stage of our installation is carried out and certified by qualified professionals.

Often, yes. Depot-scale installations with multiple high-power EV chargers frequently trigger formal notification requirements to your local distribution network, depending on your state or region and the current draw involved. We manage this notification as part of the connection process — one less thing for you to navigate.

We plan for it. Trenching, cabling, and equipment installation are sequenced around your operational schedule, so your fleet keeps running while work is underway. Minimising disruption isn’t an afterthought — it’s built into how we design and deliver every depot build.

This is where good engineering earns its keep. Load management software brings your EV chargers, PV solar, and battery storage together on a single system — balancing demand across every vehicle, avoiding unnecessary grid upgrades, and letting you monitor and manage everything remotely. It’s what allows a full EV fleet to charge reliably without exceeding your site’s capacity.

Every installation is fully tested and commissioned before handover — electrical safety certification to AS/NZS standards, charge-cycle testing on every EV charger, and validation of load management under real depot conditions. We also confirm monitoring and network integration are live and functioning. Your depot isn’t just installed — it’s verified and ready to perform.
